Part One – The Progressive Movement & Israel: Understanding & Navigating the Difficult Discussion

Please join Oren Jacobson, co-founder and executive director of Project Shema, in a conversation about how to navigate discussions around the I/P conflict and antisemitism in the broader progressive movement.

In this portion, we will cover strategies for how to address these challenges within progressive communities. This session will be ideal for those seeking to engage across communal lines, including equipping students and young leaders, and will help you better understand how the discourse and forces shaping the dialogue for the rising generation of progressive Jews and non-Jews on campus and beyond.

Part Two – Mental, Emotional, and Social Health in Difficult Topics with BBYO

Please join Drew Fidler, the Director of The Center for Adolescent Health and Wellness with BBYO, in a conversation about how to best work with young people on issues of psychological wellness as it pertains to Jewish identity and antisemitism.

In this portion, we will discuss how to discuss difficult topics in a way that is cognizant of the mental and emotional challenges for youth in the room. This training will help you to understand how difficult topics can impact the mental, emotional, and social health of youth, identify signs and symptoms that a youth may be struggling, and give you tools to respond and connect youth to appropriate help.
